Optimism

Writing has not always been my Forte, but this is as close as I get to express my feelings.

Lately I’ve been thinking of what I would have become if I continued to play badminton. Well it’s been my sport since my High school days up to now in my Second year College. I stopped playing badminton. I quitted the CSB Badminton team because I felt like it has no where to go and it has nothing to do with my CAREER in the future and it was in the way of my studies.

Badminton was something in my life. I would look up to it as my purpose in life, something I can be proud of myself that I excel in that sport. Well I may not be a smart ass student but I’m doing my best for my academics. Badminton opened a whole new world for me. I made a lot of friends, and the good thing about it is “ It’s regular exercise “ because of our training.

I hate to admit it but I miss my training days. I miss jogging, I miss sprinting in the 9 courts in yonex, I miss doing shuttle drills, I miss doing shuttle runs. I miss everything.

When I was looking at the pictures of my friends in Tacloban who used to be my team mates, I was once with them in EVRAA, in tournaments, in City Meets and everything else. I miss those days where I could feel the pressure and the adrenaline rushing in me, the pain and the sacrifices I made to achieve of what I’ am now. How I wish I could turn back time and be with them again and start all over.

Everything just gone blank. My love for the game, my perseverance. I had to accept that there are people better than me but that does not give me the reason to give up. Being in college has made me realize that there is a whole lot more in this world than badminton. Well I usually spent most of my free time with badminton. Well that’s life, we have to let go of the things you one loved.

It’s been bothering me since I stopped playing badminton. It also makes me feel insecure that I stopped and I wished that I haven’t.

I miss playing badminton. I miss my Happy days with that sport.
At least now I found something new to keep myself busy with.
I can be as open to try everything. I was once a frustrated dancer and I want to try it out again before everything else fails. =)
